We should be careful about using the expression, "my favorite grandchild..." Even "my favorite child" ( son or daughter ) is banned!

One very 'sensitive' area - yes. Your daughter is lucky - she's the only one! Favoritism in my family (there were seven of us) was never an issue with me. I don't know with yours, more so that there were also a lot of you girls! But with my own brood, there's a lot of balancing to do. I'm not aware that I have favorites, but the issue crops up at odd moments. One learns to be a diplomat par excellence in big families. And no matter how hard one tries - you can't please everyone.
